Here’s a tip: Don’t throw away your old electronics. Use them as a teaching tool and break out a couple screwdrivers. This is all you need to start an education on how things are built and how things work. No need to know everything but looking at the guts of a radio, ipod or TV really help demystify them. When kids realize that behind the smooth exterior is circuit board or computer chip that controls everything, they get more curious.
