There are always new skills to learn at the ranch and roping is one of them.
It’s actually easier than you think and you don’t have to jump on a horse or see any cattle to actually learn and practice how to rope.
Just attach a practice steer head available at any feed or ranch supply store to a sawhorse and you’ve got yourself a practice partner that will never tire out and won’t fight back.
Cut the legs on the back a bit shorter to give the steer more of an angle and feel free to paint the steer whatever color you like.
If you don’t want to build a sawhorse then just stick the steer head into a bale of hay which will also work great.
Cowboy up!
